A Special Morning for Unhoused Women in Bridgeport

After our recent retreat for the men, Sister Eileen Boffa had a great idea to offer a half-day of creativity for some of her local street friends in Bridgeport.

We invited my daughter who is an artist to get involved. She developed a personal collage project for the women she called “Peace Keepers”. The women spent time leafing through a variety of magazines for any images that resonated with them as bringing a sense of peace. The final collage was in the form of a fold-out booklet that opened to a small poster size with many colorful images.

The hope was that they could carry the booklet with them, and in times of stress or loneliness, return to that peaceful space the images had initially inspired for them.

Then we all shared pizza. Pizza always helps too!
