Men’s Ministry has been expanding into the Hartford Diocese this past year with some new groups.
We recently launched a new men’s ministry at St. Dunstan’s Parish in Glastonbury CT. The core team came together in August last year. They worked with the model for a few months as a leadership team, and then launched the ministry to the parish in December. They have grown to about 35-40 men attending each week. Recently some men at a neighboring parish, St. Isadore, heard about the ministry and decided to attend. They are now considering at putting a team together to start their own ministry.
St Mary parish in Simsbury is continuing to expand their Men’s Ministry. I was invited to return for a visit over the summer and was thrilled to see more cars in the parking lot when I arrived. They are consistently connecting with and inviting new men in the parish to join the discussion.
St Joseph Parish in Brookfield, has been meeting for 5 years now and is expanding their offering to include a weekly Thursday evening meeting in addition to their Saturday morning time. Last weeks’ kick off meeting was off to a good start with 18 men in attendance.
